Grace Meadow Farm offers private/semi-private beginner/intermediate lessons from CHA certified Instructors. Our goal is to share our love and knowledge of horses with others. We'll teach everything from brushing and saddling, to position in the saddle and confidence building, walk, trot, and canter. Overall, we emphasize in all of our activities, fun with horses.

Meet Our Instructors
Kelly Sommers

Kelly attended Lyman Hall for their large animal agriculture program from 2003-2007. She then continued on to attend the University of Findlay in Ohio and studied Western Equestrian Studies. During these years she's successfully shown English and western (AQHA, CHSA, Tristate, and Ct Color Breed), she actively participates in the growing sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting traveling down the east coast with her horse Blues Chyna Girl and also to the 2012 Quarter Horse Congress. Chyna and Kelly were Ladies Overall at the 2014 North East Regionals, and Ladies Reserve year end as a Ladies Level 4! She is a member of the Ct Renegades and the North East Six Shooters. She also participates in the Aqha Ride program with over 500 hours in the saddle. She's a member of the Ct Trail Riders Association, Ct Horse Council Volunteer Horse Patrol and has been co leader of the Mini Mustangs 4-H group. Grace Meadow Farm is a small facility with 7 of our own horses which they use for lessons, and lease out along with a few boarders. Having a farm has taught her time management, responsibility, and safety first. She loves training horses and teaching the more advanced kids. Kelly is a Certified Instructor with the Certified Horsemanship Association at a level 3 English Jumping, and Western. Debbie Sommers

Debbie is driven by her love of horses and passion of teaching youngsters. She enjoys teaching confidence in the saddle while teaching them control, and proper equitation. Debbie is a past president of the Cheshire Horse Council, a member of the Ct trail riders associations, Ct Horse council, Volunteer Horse Patrol. She has over 500 Hours in the saddle with the AQHA Ride program and loves her American Quarter Horse Mcintosh Jet. She enjoys doing parades, camping with her horse, and going wherever the trails may take her. She has been the owner of Grace Meadow Farm for the last 7 Years. Debbie is certified Level 2 English and Western with the Certified Horseman's Association. In 2014 Debbie started shooting with her new horse Pecos and is now a ladies level 2.
